Happy 2015!

Another year rolls by. 2015 already? It's hard to imagine fifteen years have past since we all waited on tenter hooks to see if Y2K would result in world wide calamity. Fifteen years later, we're still standing. That's good news.
I imagine it's traditional to recap the last year on New Years Day. 2014 was a year of putting down roots. As 2013 was our BIG MOVE year, 2014 was the time we let the dust settle, unpacked nearly all of the boxes and began to find our feet in our new island home. There are still moments where I feel unbalanced and unsure in my new direction, but I try not to dwell there long in fear that it could become a dark place. Instead, I square my shoulders and look for new opportunities to learn, grow, and explore all the possibilities of living in paradise.
What were the great things about 2014?
Well, here's the short list:
1. We saw John graduate from the Fire Academy and become a bona fide fireman.
2. We've eliminated nearly all the cane grass from the property.
3. We visited the temples in Kona and Laie.
4. Robert had his gallbladder out and it went well.
5. We've both lost a fair amount of weight and have begun a regular exercise routine.
6. Had two out of the three of our children visit. One came twice.
7. Bought a sea kayak
8. Bought a Macbook
9. Put in photovotaic solar panels and reduced our energy bill by over $200 a month.
10. I became the Primary pianist.

And of course, it wouldn't be January 1st without some resolutions. So here they are:
1. Stay healthy.
2. Be happy.
3. Learn something new.

Happy New Year and may 2015 be the best one yet!
